Supporting Siblings in Special Needs Families

It can be confusing, tiring, frustrating, and lonely being a sibling of someone diagnosed with ASD or another type of developmental difference. This might lead to feelings of sadness, acting out behaviorally, or defiant behaviors.

At Seasons of Possibilities, it is believed that all family members are affected and need to be supported. Through individual, family, and/or group sessions, siblings can gain a better understanding of their brother or sister, how to express their needs to family members, as well as learn healthy coping skills that can be used to help with adjusting to life’s challenges.
